CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in greeting card illustration began as a design student with a love of illustration. Over the years, my expertise in greeting card illustration has developed due to my attention to lettering and the joy I find in creating whimsical characters. As an illustrator who specializes in nature themed artwork, I nurture this focus by spending time outdoors. I am especially inspired by the local flora and fauna found in my home state, Tennessee. The aspect I love most about animal illustration is its ability to capture their unique personalities and playful spirits.

Q&A
What is your favorite occasion to illustrate?
I love to illustrate Christmas because of the magic and nostalgia associated with the season.
Which card do you still keep on your desk?
I have kept the first physical greeting card sample I ever received from a client. It’s an illustration of a little white cat wrapped up in Christmas lights and a star atop its head.
What is the most unique card you ever created?
I illustrated a scene of woodland critters going caroling dressed in their winter coats and scarves. They are singing to families of squirrels and owls, while being led by their choir director, a little gray mouse.
