CREATIVE STATEMENT
Who doesn’t like food? I enjoy food firstly as a delicious and necessary part of my day and secondly as a beautiful source of inspiration for my work. It is an endless library of colours, textures and shapes that can represent moods, lifestyles and cultures. Being from Spain, I am surrounded by very colorful tapas and all sort of tasty traditional meals. I love observing how the food is presented in my local restaurants, however chaotic is may look sometimes. To create a food illustration, sometimes I take pics of my dishes and use them as a base to create a beautiful still life. I love saturating the colours and adding glazing textures, so often my food looks more tasty in my drawings than in real life!

Q&A
What fruit or vegetable do you most love to illustrate?
I love making tomatoes, strawberries and red colored food. It looks so lively and it goes great with green bits.
What is your comfort food?
Definitely cheese! I snack brie and crackers while watching a show way too often.
What is your favorite beverage?
I really like drawing vermouth and cocktails, although I am not a big cocktail drinker. I love vermouth on Sundays though!
