CREATIVE STATEMENT
I studied Graphic Design at Vakalo School of Art and Design in Athens, Greece. I worked as a graphic designer in several advertising offices and magazines. The last 6 years, I work as a freelance illustrator. I illustrate book covers, children’s books, and editorials. My interest in editorial illustration began when I worked as an art director in a magazine and I was trying to find something unique to visually enhance written content. For me, the two most important qualities of a successful editorial illustration are to grab the attention of the readers as they browse the publication and also help to add a new perspective to the article. To maintain my skillset I try to work on a daily basis and do a lot of personal projects. I also study the work of other artists and keep up with the new trends in illustration.
