CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in illustration began as a child. Being an artist of some kind was always my dream. Over the years, my expertise in illustration and graphic design has developed due to my love of creativity. I have a need to always be creating something. As an illustrator who specializes in flowers and plants I nurture this focus by being in nature, visiting local nurseries and my Dad’s amazing flower garden. What I love most about illustrating flowers is its ability to bring joy to others through my art. To create a successful floral illustration I believe its important to really study the flowers you are depicting, whether you are creating a whimsical or a more representation piece. This gives each piece a level of authenticity. For me, the two most important qualities of a successful floral illustration are placing them in unique settings and creating contrast in color and texture.
