CREATIVE STATEMENT
My interest in greeting cards began when I was in university and illustrated cards for my family and friends. Over the years, my expertise in greeting cards has developed by being a part of Canada's large number of artisan markets and boutique gift shops, which allowed me to experiment with styles and sentiments through smaller runs of cards. What I love most about card design is its ability to bring joy or surprise to the receiver. When I receive an e-mail about how much a recipient loved one of my cards, I know I'm moving in the right direction with my career!

Q&A
What is your favorite occasion to illustrate?
Illustrating winter holidays is my favourite because of cozy themes (hello animals wearing scarves!) and chance to play with both night and day to showcase magical lights. However, I love the challenge of researching and illustrating less common occasions such as Yule, Rosh Hashanah and Lunar New Year.
Which card do you still keep on your desk?
My husband and I give each other very meaningful cards every birthday and anniversary, so I always keep the most recent on my desk.
What is the most unique card you ever created?
A custom retirement card I created for a coworker showcased her life journey throughout her employment, which included her pets, children, trips, her hopes and dreams after retirement, and themes of her current role. The brainstorming was a team effort and it looked like a graphic novel in the end!
