CREATIVE STATEMENT
My first illustrated map was one of a soon to be developed neighborhood in San Francisco. The project came to me when the client expressed a desire to make a promotional map that was more friendly and inviting instead of basic and clinical, to show a lifestyle, not just a point on a map. Maps are fascinating—tiny details along a path are very engaging, game boards are like that also, they invite you to explore.

What is your most memorable vacation spot?
As an illustrator, I’m fortunate to be able to work just about anywhere, so I am actually living in my favorite vacation spot—New Hampshire.
Which do you prefer: mountains, desert, beach, or forest?
Because I love hiking the mountains as much as walking the beach, living here gives me the best of both worlds as well as a true four seasons climate. I incorporate much of the New England look and feel into my work.
