CREATIVE STATEMENT
As an illustrator who specializes in greeting cards, I nurture this focus by finding inspiration in my own life. I often create cards for the purpose of my own family and friends, birthdays for my kids, mothers day design for my own mother, friendship cards for a friend going through a hard time or celebrating something! Many of my designs come from specific situations in my own life!

Q&A
What is your favorite occasion to illustrate?
Birthday is always a fun and vast category—so many ages and interests to capture! I also love Halloween because I love the holiday myself, and always seem to have an abundance of ideas! Although, I love creating cards for the “no occasion occasion”—a just because or humorous friendship card that need no real occasion.
Which card do you still keep on your desk?
A Mother’s Day card from my kids stays on my desk all year :-) , BUT I actually have a multi-card holder display that hangs on my wall, and I interchange with cards that I’ve created, or that I’ve received from others. I like to display cards as artwork!
What is the most unique card you ever created?
I created a cat yoga card (cats in various yoga positions) that was kind of the catalyst into the greeting card world. It was the first one that I licensed and that was when I realized how much I enjoyed designing cards that made others smile—and it snowballed from there! So, I don’t know if it’s unique, or just my most memorable card!
