CREATIVE STATEMENT
I specialize in drawing animals, which means paying close attention to personality, posture, and all the little quirks that make each one unique. I travel widely and am endlessly inspired by seeing animals in unexpected places—especially the wonderfully weird ones. I’ve been kissed by a lemur in Madagascar and mock charged by a rhinocerous in Sumatra. My goal is always to capture character and warmth, whether an animal is familiar or completely new. If it feels alive, curious, or slightly mischievous, I’m probably on the right track.

Q&A
What animal do you most relate to?
Penguins. I respect an animal that survives brutal conditions while dressed for a black tie event.
What animal is the most fun to draw?
I love to draw dinosaurs, because since no one knows what they really look like, whatever I draw is correct.
Which do you prefer, cats or dogs?
Dogs. And cats. No, dogs. No, cats!
